The Rothchild lab is located in the department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (VASCI) at UMass Amherst.
The lab is focused on understanding innate immune responses in the lung, studying how alveolar macrophages regulate inflammation at the airway-tissue interface. The lab primarily focuses on innate pulmonary immunity in the context of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, a disease that kills 1.5 millions people each year, but will also develop projects to study similar mechanisms in other respiratory conditions.
We are looking for collaborative, enthusiastic, and curious scientists to join our team, including technician, graduate student, and postdoc positions!
Postdoctoral scientists: Contact Alissa with your general research interests, summary of research experience, CV, and names and contact information of 3 references.
Graduate students: We accept rotation students (Master’s, PhD) from both the MCB and ABBS programs at UMass Amherst. Currently enrolled students can contact Alissa to learn more about ongoing research projects in the lab.
Undergraduate students: We will be accepting undergraduate students soon for academic research projects.
